Goal #44 Identify 101 Things that Make Me Happy! :D

So last week was a Murphy’s Law kind of week, well at least for a girl who doesn’t really have anything to complain about in her life! I thought about how I want to blog about a phone that took a crap, trying to activate a phone that didn’t work, being "right on time" 3 out of 4 days, having to find different babysitters each day, lots of red lights, cancelled spin class after waking Ains from a nap to go to it and enough ants that could have carried our house away meaningless complaints! But on Friday morning as I grumbled to work, I decided instead of having a “woe is me” kind of attitude, perhaps I should be a bit more optimistic and in the process, accomplish another goal. Instead of dwelling on what wasn’t going how I had hoped, I decide I should needed to make a list of 101 things that make me happy/smile/I enjoy. Goal Update!

Over the past couple weeks I've finished up and started a couple goals. So here's an update.

Accomplished Goals:
8. Try 4 new foods [or foods that I “don’t think I like”].
Food #1: Canteloupe I'm not a big melon person--watermelon is the only type I like! Way back in July when we had some delicious chicken salad sandwiches, we also had some canteloupe. Now I've had canteloupe before, but I've been picking it out of fruit salad for years and passing it to my mom or Chris to eat for me. so I tried it that day. The verdict? I don't not like canteloupe, but I don't enjoy it. It's just sorta of bland. If I had to eat it, I would but I'll still be that girl who picks around it in the fruit salad!
Food #2: Mahi Mahi "I don't like seafood." Well that's also what I would say if you asked me. I mean I like tuna from a can on certain occasions in tuna casserole, but that's about it. The fishy taste/smell is too much for me! Well at Ruby Tuesdays a couple months ago, Chris ordered an entree with a couple different meats on it. One of which was Mahi Mahi. It was alright...for the first bite and an half... until I thought about the fact that I was eating fish. :S
Food #3: Salmon Same background as food #2, but this time we were over at some friends on Saturday evening and Micah grilled salmon and chicken. I choose chicken, which was delish, but ate a piece--note: not just a bite!-- of salmon. It was pretty good. It wasn't fishy but I did think it was a bit dry, although if it weren't dry it'd be full of fishy juices, so I'll take a bit of dryness!
Food #4: Hummus Chris likes it and I even bought ingredients to make some in the very near future, but for Sunday's lunch we had some store bought Roasted Red Pepper Hommus [not a mispelling, that's what the label says!]. I ate a bit with some crackers. It wasn't bad, but the texture combined with a lack of strong flavor wasn't my cup of tea! I think it would be better on a pita with other fixins' to make a sandwich!
Overall for all four foods, my conclusion is that I don't not like them, I just don't particularly like them! Not my foods of choice, but edible nonetheless! :)

42. Give Mister a goodnight kiss every night [that we’re in the same location] for 101 days.
Each night that Mister and I have been in the same location for the past 101 days, we have shared a kiss before drifting into sleep. It wasn't always accompanied with "G'night!" although oftentimes it was. The motivation behind this goal was the popular signs/phrase "Always Kiss Me Goodnight" that I've seen around Hobby Lobby and the internet! Such a tough goal to accomplish!

53. Memorize the books of the New Testament, in order.
I've had a good general feel for the order of the New Testament and it would only take a minute to find the book I was looking for, but to ramble them off, not so much. I mean the Gospels? Check! Acts, Romans, 1 & 2 Corinthians? Check! Then "Go Eat Peaches & Cream". Galatians, Ephesians, Phillipians, Colossians. Check! But then came trouble! Timothy? Thessalonians? Who knows! Then one of the leaders mentioned that the next three sets of books where the T books in order from longest to shortest in terms of the length of the names. 1 & 2 Thessalonians, 1 & 2 Timothy, and Titus. Then I remember: PHJ [Kind of like Ph. D.] Philemon, Hebrews, & James. Then remember your PJs--Peters and Johns and then I was good for the last two: Jude & Revelation. You see, ask me to remember something by straight memory and I've up a creek without a paddle, but if I can come up with sentence or silly phrase, I was golden! How else do you think I made it through 3 years of Spanish and ended up with the Boca Grande award in the end! :)

In-Progress  Goals:
5. Drink no pop for 6 months.
I'm 9 days in for this goal. I was going to start on October 1st but then went to a Birthday party and pop was all that was sitting out. Oh well, a day later than planned. I've gone a year or so before without drinking pop, but the biggest thing for me to "getting going" with this goal is simply remembering to not drink pop!

28. Complete honeymoon photo album.
I havethe album [for 2.5 years] and the pics [for 2.5 weeks]. Now they just need to colide and be done!

34. Invite friends—outside of Girls Group—into our home 6 times over the course of 3 months.
We've done this twice, but since the three month mark will expire the end of October, I think we'll be starting over again! Unless you count people swinging by to meet Ains, but I think that's cheating a bit and I've already bent one goal thanks to her so I'll plan on starting over with this one!

45. Read 43 books from BBC Top 100 books.
2 Books: Jane Eyre & The Twits! I need to get booking! [ha! I wasn't planning on a pun, but there's one nonetheless! :)]

52. Pray every night with Chris before bed for 30 days.
After tonight, it'll be 9 days as we've been praying together each night since October 2nd. We're hoping to develop a bedtime routine with Ainsley that consists of feeding--well for the lil' one--then bath time, prayer/snuggle time, and sleep! I'm not keeping my fingers crossed on the routine, but we'll continue with the prayer!

54. Memorize the books of the Old Testament in order.
I've got 27 of the 39 books of the Old Testament down thanks to Chris and similar nuemonics as I used for remembering the order of the New Testament. Not too much longer and creative ways and I'll have all 39 books down!

86. Complete paperwork for Century Farm Recognition.
This one is for my Grandma Cow--any guesses why I grew up calling her Grandma Cow?! :) I have the print of for it, and will just need to do a little "interviewing" to know how to answer all the questions they ask! I just need to get busy!

There you have it! An update on all those goals! Until next time, friends!

P.S. Part of the reason for this post, in addition to one of my goals being to blog about each of my goals, another reason for this post is because my mom recently asked me if I was working on any of my goals. After an "Uhh... yeah... let me think" she quickly replied, "I'll take that as a no!" So I needed to check and see what I was actually working on!

Goal #16

#16: Lose all my baby weight prior to getting pregnant a second time.

Note: Just because this goal is accomplished that does NOT mean Goal #25 is accomplished. That my friends is completely impossible until after Oct. 11. ;)

So I did it. Not that I am not glad, but in reality I didn't do much to accomplish this goal, it just sort of happened! Thank you breastfeeding. Sorry others who are still working on this goal. I'm not exactly sure how much I gained with Ainsley. The weight gain started pretty slow but then about month 7 or 8 it shot up much more than I was expecting! On my due date [4.5 days before Ains was born], my jaw dropped as my total weight gain at that point was 36.7 lbs. and nearly kissing 200 lbs! I didn't feel that big. I didn't think to weigh myself before going in to the hospital, even though I would've had plenty of time as Chris enjoyed his breakfast and I sat and tapped my foot. The majority of my weight came off within the first week and for about the last 2 weeks, I've just been waiting in these last 5 lbs. [Aren't we always waiting on those last 5 that take forever?!] Technically I was down to my true pre-pregnancy weight within 2 weeks of Ainsley's birth, but for this goal I decided I had to be to my pre-I-found-out-I-was-pregnant weight to count. That's what I get for losing ten pounds in December when I didn't know I was preggo!

Since there isn't much else to say about the goal, I figured this is as good as time as ever to talk about my post-pregnancy body. [Don't worry, it'll remain completely PG.]

Pregnancy does some amazing things to a lady's body, and of course it's miraculously fascinating how our sweet baby girl was once simply a fertilized cell in me. She was the size of a seasame seed when I found out about her! And the size of a lentil when we spilled the beans to our immediate family--I don't know that I've ever blogged about how I went about doing that. Perhaps I will. :)

Anyways, through out my pregancy I was shocked as I didn't have any stretch marks--believe me, I have them, but not on my stomach from the baby. Then along came August 13th, 2 weeks before my due date. This was the day I was really thinking hoping our lil' one would come and as I was rushhing around to head to a shower, I noticed my first pregnancy stretch mark. Only about an inch, but there it was. Bummed that I was getting a stretch mark on that day, and not a baby, I was just hoping I'd just have one. A couple more sprouted up over the next 2 weeks, but still not as many as I expected. Oddly [to me at least] I'm pretty sure I left the hospital with more stretch marks than when I was admitted. Perhaps that's what 3 hours of pushing will do to you.

Another oddity was that I had read about linea nigra thanks to countless weekly pregnancy email updates, but I never noticed that dark line on my stomach. This too showed up after Ainsley's arrival. Weird.

Probably the most fascinating post-pregnancy body related thing has been breastfeeding. Now that it isn't highly uncomfortable, I repeatedly amazed how Ainsley and my body's are intune with supply and demand and how my body is producing everything her lil' body needs to not only survive, but to thrive! There's a lot that I don't know/understand about how it all works [like does it taste different depending on what I eat? Seriously that thought crosses my mind every day], but luckily our bodies seem to know what they are doing and it's mind-boggling!

So all in all, I have been amazed at the female body throughout and now after pregnancy, like most other things with my pregnancy it hasn't been as I expected, but it's all working out anyways. I'm glad to be back to my pre-pregnancy weight and now just need to work on the pre-pregnancy body stomach!

Sunday, July 31

Scrub-a-dub-dub, get this preggo in a tub!

Goal #21: Shower every single day for 2 weeks.

As of yesterday, I have showered every day for the past 14 days! Success. CHECK!

This may seem like a silly goal, and in reality it isn't a very serious one, but it is one that I had to be very intentional about completing! I just don't like to shower. It's not that I like to be stinky or sweaty, which I really don't like, it's just that showering is such a task to me! Kind of like running, getting started is the worse part, but I am always thankful that I did it when I'm done. :)

Most people are caught off guard by this thought process of mine and think that this means that I shower like once a week. Not true! I just don't enjoy the process of actually getting into the shower [especially in the winter because we keep are thermostat low], I still do it, for everyone's sake!! I have an idea inspired from another blog that might make showering more fun and not so mundane, so if I decide to incorporate that, I'm sure their will be a post to follow!

Perhaps if our bathroom was as serene as this,
I'd enjoy showering more! Doubt it! :)

Oh, and I was deliberate with this goal and would plan out when I'd shower. Not always did I feel like I needed a shower, but would take one anyways. I actually made it to Day #11 once, but because of our camping trip, I had to start over! I guess there's worse things that could've happened. :)

Goal #20: Brush my teeth twice a day, every day for 30 days.

Due to having to start over, I also completed a second goal yesterday! Yesterday also marked the 30th day in a row that I've brushed my teeth twice a day. I know this may be gross as well and I have friends who like brushing their teeth so much that they do it 4-6 times a day. Not me. I don't like bad breath, but no one smells my breath while I'm sleeping anyways so it just didn't make sense to me! I'm also convinced that when I do brush my teeth right before bed, I'm so much more thirsty in the night than if I don't so my laziness used to win out there too. Anyways, 2 goals completed in one day!

Keeping Track of my Goals.
One tick at a time!

So am I alone here or is there any others out there who don't particularly enjoy the task of actually getting into the shower or brushing your teeth [but of course do it anyways for everyone's sake]?!  I know I have one friend out there who's in a similar shower boat, especially in the winter, anyone else?! :)

Honkin' Truck Drivers

There is certainly something I don't understand when it comes to truck drivers and I am hoping that someone can enlighten me as to what is going on!

Nearly everytime that I drive on the interstate [more than just a few miles], I get honked at! No it's not flattery and no I am not that crazy woman cutting you off. If either were the case, I wouldn't be so baffled! I honestly can't figure it out. It happens when I am in the left lane and there is a semi in the right lane. I commonly get a single toot as I slowly pass it.

Here's the reasons I've come up with:

1. I have been on my cell phone. While this isn't always the case, probably 25% of the time it was so I thought that perhaps this was the driver's way of saying "Yo! Lady! Get off your phone and pay attention to the road!!"

2. My tire is flat. I left the gas tank open. My head/tail light is burnt out. Or something of the sorts. This is what I commonly think is going on because it's very Rachel-ish, but I continue driving for the next several miles paranoid and looking around! It's not the case though.

3. I have invisible ink visible to only truck drivers on the top of my car that says "Honk at me, please!" This is the more realistic of the three options, because it's the only one that I can't disprove.

Nevertheless probably half the time I am on the interstate for more than a few miles, I'll have at least one trucker honk at me as I pass them. It drives me bonkers! I then spend the next few miles having the conversation in my head that I just had here! [This happened again this afternoon after dropping my lil' bro off at Country Concert, so that's why it's fresh in my mind again!]

So any suggestions? What's going on? Am I just crazy?!

Lack of Sleep + No School = Crib Skirt?

Last night was a doozy.

I recognize that in 11 weeks, I may be very, very thankful for a solid 3.5 hours of sleep but this morning my wake-up call came way too early—more accurately, my bedtime was ridiculously way too late!! Such can’t be attributed to a growing belly and uncomfortable sleeping positions. Rather the verdict—I assume—was none other than:
PEPSI!

Now I am not a regular pop drinker overall and haven’t been for a long time, but I do still drink it from time to time. However usually clear pop, or at least caffeine-free pop, is my cola drink of choice. Last night though since Pepsi was cold and Root Beer was not, I went for the caffeine-filled, sugar loaded dark pop way too late in the evening aka after my preferred bedtime.

As Mister and I had pillow talk at about 11:30, I asked him if he was ready to go to sleep as his eyes blinked slower and slower as my mouth moved faster and faster. He said he was when I was ready to be done talking. I decided to be selfless and shut up so at least one of us could sleep. J

Because I was wired wide awake, I logged onto my laptop and began surfing and searching. Catching up on Facebook and reading blogs. After over an hour I decided to head out to the living room as I was afraid the light from the computer would wake my sleeping beauty. I also took advantage of this time by texting my fav lil' bro who was still wide awake raking in the cash at a casino [despite telling him g'night hours prior]!.

I ended up looking at nursery things and diy blogs and 2 hours and countless browser windows later, I found a few nursery ideas that I really liked. Now I have looked at other sites—and some of the same one’s I looked at last night—many times before, but I finally settled on what I liked for our lil’ Mystery Massie! We’ll see how long this “settledness” lasts and if it gets carried through in the plans!

I did however decide that I for sure wanted to make a crib skirt for the nursery. So after a partial day at school wrapping up loose ends, I headed to Hobby Lobby and JoAnn Fabrics to find the *perfect* fabric to use.  I gazed up and down the aisles at JoAnn’s finding 4 “elephant based” fabrics that I liked but couldn’t decide on—each had parts I liked more than another fabric—and then I decided to just leave. I then headed next door to Hobby Lobby to find it. Well their selection sucked was quite limited. So I bought Heat ‘N Bond and Velcro strips and headed back to JoAnn’s to force myself to decide. Finally I did. And I settled on this pattern:
Huge piece of large colorful animal fabric.

As I drove away from the stores, I was kicking myself for picking this pattern and not one of the others [I was having a self-heated debate as to which fabric would be best to “genderize” after the lil’ one makes its appearance], but now “in the end” I do think it was the best choice! When I got home I immediately laid out the fabric and was ready to cut. On one website last night I found an uber-easy no sew tutorial for a crib skirt and I was ready to go. However I ran into one dilemma: the fabric’s print and the way I was planning on cutting would’ve made the animals all sideways.

Crap.

No fear though. After a few mathematical calculations, and remembering another site I came across last night, I had a solution! Cut in the proper way and put in a panel using leftover fabric from my crib sheet adventure! Sa-weet. Still ahead!

Within an hour or so, after thinking I’d have to go back and buy more fabric, I had a completed a crib skirt, and liked it! J Not a single stitch was made but rather I used Heat ‘N Bond for all the hemming and seams—why did I not know about this before—and then used Velcro to attach it to the crib mattress frame.
Simple Materials.
Fabric, "Panel" Fabric, Heat 'N Bond & Velcro.

The Final Product
Easy-peasy.

Now just to wait and see what Chris thinks of my latest project before I start another one soon! Another reason I love summer break!

Total cost for this project was a bank breaking $11.48 and I still have some leftover Heat ‘N Bond and Velcro! Gotta love coupons! J

Sorry about the sidewaysness. It took
forever to load and I'm not patient enough
tonight to redo it.
Note amount-of-sleep-last-night above.

Until next *project* time!

Spring-ish Winter Break

Last Friday at 1:30pm officially began my spring break. I was looking forward to it for a couple of reasons and obviously all my students were looking forward to it, so I embraced it with open arms. Leading up to the week, I had an unwritten to do list of what I wanted to accomplish:

1. Move the tv to the living room.
2. Organize the bedroom that the tv was in so it can start to become nursery-ish.
3. Put the crib together.
4. Organize the mounds of things in the garage by putting them into the new pantry area.
5. Do our state and local taxes. [I've had federal done since early February, but there's little motivation when we owe money! : ) ]
*Note: There is nothing listed about lesson plans or grading which is likely why I haven't done either and it's already Friday! Yikes!

By Saturday night, Chris and I had kicked butt and marked off the first 3 things on my to-do list. And now that it's Friday, I've got to re-motivate myself to get those last two done, and especially the little asterisk!

Here's the crib all put together! : )

So you ask what have I done with the last five days of not working on my to-dos?! Well I have been doing other enjoyable things that I will enlighten you on now.

MONDAY: Busy, busy, busy. Monday morning I woke up with a plan of going from one thing to another for the majority of the day. I had a meeting in the morning then a dentist appointment just before noon, then a doctor's appointment at 1:50. Spin [I thought] was at 5:30 and then TFC at 7. Well I was a bit nervous about my morning schedule as I was afraid the offices would be running behind and I was would be in a mad rush from one place to another. Thankfully that wasn't the case--actually the exact opposite was the case. I had a decent amount of time to kill between everything that morning. So I did what anyone would do, go from drugstore to drugstore and rack up some freebies!

Dentist Appt: I had a pinhole cavity that needed filled--I swear they just make things up in order to get more of our money-- so I get called back, and the assistant puts the topical numbing stuff on my gums. The dentist comes back with a needle and numbs my mouth. Not 3 minutes later--which it usually takes longer than that for the dentist to return--he's back with drill in hand and begins drilling. Did he check to see if everything was numb yet?! Of course not! Reminded me of the country song "Some Beach!" I grunted because it hurt--usually I try to tough it out but this hurt! And as he put the drill down he commented that he didn't give me much anaesthetic because he wasn't going to be doing much drilling. Gee thanks for the warning! To my surprise he was done with drilling and within 20 minutes of sitting in the dentist chair, I was back in my car with an hour and an half before my doctor's appointment.

Doc Appt: I arrived to the office about 15 minutes early because I was out of ideas to kill time, so I read a few pages of a new book and watched some Soaps while trying to understand the unfolding drama. I got called back a few minutes before my scheduled appointment time and when through the usual routine...Weight... Pee in a Cup... Nurse asks if I have any new symptoms or questions? Nope... Fetal Heart rate...144...[Don't get me wrong, that part is cool, but it wasn't as climatic as the first time and this nurse wasn't as bubbly/fun.]...Doc will be in a minute. Okay... Couple minutes of Soaps...Doc come in and asks if I have any new symptoms or questions? Nope... She feels around my stomach/uterus..."Everything looks good, and girls will schedule you for your ultrasound and upcoming appointments on your way out!"... The end. After scheduling appointments through the end of May, I was out the door. It was 2:10! I was in and out after only 20 minutes. Do I see the "necessity" of these appointments? Of course, but it seems like such a waste of time. Part of me was wishing I had a high risk pregnancy so that they'd at least be more interesting, but of course that's the senseless part of me and I'm thankful for a healthy-as-far-as-we-know pregnancy!

Spin was cancelled and then off to TFC. So my "crazy busy Monday" turned out to be pretty slow.

TUESDAY: A few weeks ago, Chris had planned a mini-getaway for my Spring Break. He kept it all a secret, except that he told me we were going to a Bed & Breakfast. [Well he thought we were going to a Bed & Breakfast, but after communicating with the owner he discovered that they actually didn't serve breakfast so we were going to a... Bed. : ) ] So we headed out later than planned thanks to sleeping in on Tuesday for Eastern Ohio for a mini-trip to Holmes County. The drive was nice and when we got there we went to a Cheese Factory. We bought 4 different kinds of cheese--who knew they made salami cheese!? With a cracker, it's just like eating a slice of cheese with a slice of salami on a cracker! Yum! Then we were off to a couple little markets/shoppes. They had tons of crafty things there, which we didn't buy but rather examined the things we liked closely so we can make them ourselves. By this time, we were able to check into our Bed & Breakfast so we headed there. It was a cozy lil' country decorated room that once we figured out the lock system we were all set! Shortly after getting there, an Amish neighbor lady came to door with peanut butter cookies for us. [These weren't just single pb cookies, but soft, delicious pb cookies that are made into "sandwiches" with  a pb frosting holding them together!] Chris answered the door and took the cookie jar with him. At first she piled 2 on there. Then she commented about it being a balancing act as she piled 2 more on! Thinking she was done, Chris thanked her, just have her put another two pb sandwiched on there! Holy moly! Who needs breakfast when you have the equivalent of a dozen homemade, fresh pb cookies!!

After coming up with a game plan for the rest of the evening--1/2 hour snooze, supper, jacuzzi, movie, bed-- we were set for the evening. We decided to go to Chalet in the Valley for supper because I read that they had cheese fondue! We ordered just that when we got there [which is all I was going to eat!] and when it came out it was huge and delicious!!

We ate most of this--which we later discovered was a pound of cheese! No bathroom breaks on our way home. ; )

Although we had all the cheese with yummy bread and Chris was barely able to eat half his meal, there was still a little room for dessert! We decided on a Matterhorn--layered baked meringue, pineapple, and ice cream covered in whipped cream--and to get it to-go. Now this dessert was huge as in 8 inches tall huge, so we gave the workers a bit of a challenge of making this to-go. Nevertheless they did it! And it was a-mazing!

Matterhorn Dessert

After supper it was time to roll ourselves back to our Bed & Breakfast to enjoy the jacuzzi. Note to self: Never let Chris put the bubbles in the tub for our future children. They made just get lost in the bubbles! He put an entire bottle of bubbles in the tub which ended up being a ton!!

The remnants of the bubble jaccuzzi--after all the water had been let out!
We watched Five People You'll Meet in Heaven [the book's better] and then drifted off to sleep!

WEDNESDAY: We got up, ate some pb cookies for breakfast, and headed to a Chocolate Factory before heading home from our adventure. After a decent drive home considering we hit rain, baby hail, and snow, we had a couple of hours before Chris had to go to work for the night. So since I knew I'd be on my own for the evening, I decided to embark on a couple new projects. Chris and I had been talking about the cost of baby bedding sets [which we had been saving our Swagbucks for so in reality it'd be "free"] and how you pay close to $100 for a fitted crib sheet and crib skirt and everything else is a safety hazard to actually use. So after a little surfing the web, I found some tutorials on making fitted crib sheets. With a plan in mind, I headed out to Hobby Lobby to buy the supplies. I picked out a light green fabric and some elastic as well as some remnant pieces. I knew what I'd use the green fabric and elastic for, but I now needed to come up with an idea for my remnants. Before I headed home, I stopped by Wally World to see if they had any fabric remnants I wanted which much to my surprise they didn't because they no longer really carried fabric. Then I was off to Walgreens to see if they had gotten in any money-making toothpaste and some Snicker Easter Eggs when I got a text from my Momma "I see you." She happened to be across the street waiting for my brother so they could eat some Lock Sixteen. So of course I joined them. : )

Project time! I decided that I would make a little pillow, and stuffed elephant, and a crib sheet out of my Hobby Lobby goodies! My game plan was first pillow, then sheet, and lastly elephant because I thought that would be the order from easiest to hardest. I forgot that I wanted to wash the sheet material first, so that became project numero tres. I busted out the sewing machine and not too much longer I was stuffing my pillow. Project Uno: Check. Then I found a pattern I wanted to use for the elephant. While I struggled a bit with the ears, the body was oddly easier and not too too much longer that project was done was well. The crib fabric was washed and dried so I was ready to start the fitted crib sheet. I laid it all out and began cutting when Chris got home. I showed him my first two projects then quickly got back to my mission of easily creating a crib sheet for half the cost of buying one at the store! As Chris went to bed, I continued to work on my sheet. Not too much longer, I broke my sewing needle on my last stitch of the sheet and I was complete! Wahoo!! It felt quite accomplishing! And for less than $4!

Crib sheet, pillow [it has the dot pattern on the back side], and lil' elephant!

The best part of it all--the sheet actually fit! : )

THURSDAY: BFer and her lil one came to visit for lunch on Thursday, so in the morning I had to do some picking up in the living room so Emma didn't get ahold of any fabric scraps! Then we spent awhile catching up which was quite enjoyable! We talked about babies, coupons, houses, life, and one interesting wives tale! Britney had a classmate tell her when she was pregnant with Emma that if you look on the inside of your feet, right under your ankle bone that whichever one is puffier is an indication of baby's gender. It was accurate for her and her classmate when they were pregnant, so she had me check my ankles! I had never heard of this before so I asked all the pregnant people I could think of who already know what they are having to check their ankles and it's 6 for 6 on accuracy, so in 13 days we'll see if it's accurate for me!

After BFer and Emma-bug headed home, I was going to head back to Hobby Lobby to get some more crib fabric when another friend text to ask if I was up for heading to OfficeMax. Well our trip to OfficeMax ended up being a trip there and then to the mall and then to Hobby Lobby and then to Big Bs and then to Super Wal-Mart and then back to my house. I was particularly excited about two parts of this run around: Hobby Lobby and the mall. At Hobby Lobby I got enough teal fabric to make 2 more fitted crib sheets as well as two super soft remnant pieces. As we picked up the pink minky fabric we noticed that it read "Type of Fabric: Dirty". So I wondered just how dirty is dirty! I asked the interesting lady working that section if she could open it up. I am glad that she did because not only did we discover that the dirtiness was confined to a small area and it appeared that it was easily washout, we also discovered that it was not a full yard like the label suggested. So after remeasuring the fabric and getting a discount for the dirt of course, it came out to be quite the deal!

Thursday's Goodies
As we continued to chat and go from place to place I realized that I missed my spin class--I blame it on the lack of schedule this week! Crap! Today's spin is going to kick my butt as it has been since a week ago Monday! Yikes! Anyways I came up with the idea to go to The Melting Pot as Dani has never been and they have a special on Thursday nights! So without much convincing, we were tearing through my closet looking for ways to easily transform ourselves from hot messes to hot presentable without Dani having to run home! Not too much longer we were on our way to delicious food dipping goodness! Yum! Yum!

And now that brings us to today, which other than this post and washing/drying my additional crib fabric, I have not accomplished a single thing! On today's to-do list:

1. Lesson plans for the rest of my current geometry unit.
2. Make 2 more crib sheets.
3. Find a project to use the white fabric for! : )

We'll see how this goes, and if you are still reading this...Wow! Thanks!

Until next time! [Which will likely be sooner rather than later as I haven't blogged much because most of the things that I have wanted to blog about has centered around baby things and I haven't wanted that information to be on the internet before this past week!]
